| 10-ruble modified banknote |
The modified 10-ruble banknote is practically no different in appearance from its predecessor – 10-ruble banknote of the standard of 1997. The modified banknote is printed on tinted paper with a pale-yellow shade. Light-green and red security fibers, as well as graded fibers with alternating red and blue parts are located chaotically in the paper pulp. We would also like to remind of the images on the banknote: a view of the bridge across Enissey and the chapel in Krasnoyarsk (a monument of the 17th century) are on its front side; a view of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station is on the backside.
One of the differences is the metallized window security thread 2 mm wide. Five parts of the thread are on the surface of the backside of the banknote.
Another difference is the covert moiré pattern around the image of the chapel on the front side of the banknote. When viewed at the right angle, the pattern represents an uninterrupted one-tone strip; when viewed at acute angle from the long side of the banknote, it represents interchangeable colored strips.

- Multi-tone local watermark in the form of the banknote denomination.
- Multi-tone local watermark: the chapel image.
- Mark for the blind. The text “A note of the Bank of Russia” and the mark for the blind are of increased relief perceived by touch.
- Latent effect (the Kipp effect). When the banknote is viewed at acute angle on the patterned guilloche band, the letters “PP” (Russian Ruble) are seen. The latent image located on the ornamental band is revealed at acute angle in the reflected light. Changing the visual angle but not the view direction, it is possible to notice the way light letters “PP” against dark background become dark against light background.
- Serial number, printed on the left coupon with red ink.
- Serial number, printed on the right coupon with dark-green ink.
- Metallized security thread 2 mm wide, having five parts visible on the surface – “windows” located on the backside of the banknote.
It differs from the previous banknote because of the presence of the following security elements:
- Covert moiré pattern.
On the 10-ruble banknote, when viewing it at acute angle from its long side, alternating color strips are noticeable around the chapel.
With the help of a magnifying glass, it is possible to read a microtext on the backside. Under the image of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station there is a positive microtext formed of repeated number 10 in straight and inclined tracing. A negative microtext of dark strips with a light repeated text “ÖÁÐ10” is located beneath.
