More reliable, stronger, wiser

The Bank of Russia is putting modified banknotes of 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rubles denomination into circulation. The banknote appearance is practically the same, but the security complex developed by the specialists of Goznak under the order of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation is much reinforced. The stress is laid primarily to the visual security features.

On the front side of the Russian banknotes there is a covert moiré pattern (on all banknotes except for the 10-ruble note, it is located in the ornamental stripe to the left of the main image; on the 10-ruble banknote it is around the image of the chapel). On the backside of the banknotes five silvery sections of the metallized security thread are seen in reflected light (it represents an uninterrupted dark line in transmitted light).

Besides, for the first time in Russia, laser microperforation is used on the banknotes of higher denominations – 100, 500 and 1000 rubles. The numerical image of the denomination is made with the help of this method.
