The Saint-Petersburg Mint – Branch of Goznak has started to accept and execute orders for striking “The 65th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war 1941 – 1945” lapel badge.

In the “Coin of the Year” category of the Third International Competition “Coin Constellation-2009” the authoritative jury named the three-kilogram gold coin struck at the Saint-Petersburg Mint of Goznak under the order of the Bank of Russia for the 190th anniversary of Goznak the winner.

At the end of June the specialists of GOZNAK took part in the only International Scientific and Practical Conference on Security Printing held within the territory of Russia – the Watermark Conference.

The first inspective audit of the quality management system for its conformity to the requirements of the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 was carried out in Goznak by TÜV NORD CERT, a German Certifying Agency, on April 13 – 17, 2009. This year it took place in the divisions of the Directorate, the Perm Printing Factory and the Krasnokamsk Paper Mill.

In the second quarter of this year the Moscow and Saint-Petersburg Mints – Branches of Goznak have started striking fractional coins with the face-value of 1, 2 and 5 rubles of steel with nickel electroplating under the order of the Bank of Russia.

The tender for the design and manufacture of banknotes with the face-value of 250 riyals carried out by the Central Bank of Yemen took place on January 15, 2009. Leading international banknote manufacturers took part in it. According to the tender results, the design developed by GOZNAK and the commercial conditions offered were chosen the best.

In February the Saint-Petersburg and Moscow Mints – Branches of Goznak took part in the 38th World Money Fair which took place in Germany.

The handover of voting forms produced at Goznak for His Holiness Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church elections took place on January 23 at Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

The following modifications are introduced to the Tender Documentation of Tender No. 2008/1 for the supply of binding material for the passport blanks to Moscow and Perm Printing Factories – Branches of Goznak approved by Goznak on October 23, 2008:

Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Goznak” of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the tender organizer, is carrying out an open tender No. 2008/1 for the supply in 2009 of binding material designated for production of blanks of the passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation proving the identity of the citizen of the Russian Federation within the territory of the Russian Federation in the quantity of 5 200 000 sheets (260 000 m2), and blanks of the passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation proving the identity of the citizen of the Russian Federation outside the territory of the Russian Federation in the quantity of 3 200 000 sheets (180 000 m2).

Two events very important for the Russian numismatics and philately took place on September 11, in Pashkov’s House, at the gala night dedicated to the 190th anniversary of Goznak.

The 2D Iris security feature represents soft edges in Orlov’s printing.

The distribution of awards of the 2nd International competition “Coin Constellation-2008” (organized by the Watermark Publishing House) took place on June 26 in “Park Inn Pribaltiyskaia” hotel.

Towards the 190th anniversary of Goznak the Bank of Russia will put into circulation two commemorative coins dedicated to the jubilee. Moreover, for the first time in Russia, a 3-kilogram gold coin will be among them.

The Saint-Petersburg and Moscow Mints of Goznak have announced that coins produced in 2007 will take part in the International Competition Coin Constellation-2008. Since April 15 till May 25, 2008, the preferential internet-voting for the commemorative coins of precious metals taking part in the 2nd International commemorative coin competition Coin Constellation-2008 will take place.
