Prior to the 1980ies, the Moscow Mint did not produce any coins. It was mostly engaged in production of orders, medals, various badges, and golden watchcases since the 1960ies. It also manufactured commemorative gold and silver coins dedicated to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
